Kangxi Six-Character Mark
This apple jar is in compressed globular form with shallow recession encircling the short neck to look like an apple. The jar is covered overall in a soft pale blue‘clair-de-lune’glaze,and the base is glazed white with six-character Kangxi reign mark in blue-and-white. The soft,gentle hue of clair-de-lune is one of the most treasured Qing glazes and was reserved exclusively for Imperial porcelains.
